Who are The Cocktail Society?
We started off as the Martini Men after one night when we saw that there was a need for awesome private cocktail bartenders in Wellington. We’ve been long standing members of Wellington’s hospitality scene, working in some of Wellington’s best spots, including The Matterhorn, W.B.C, Sandwiches, Felix, Pravda, Poquito and Bettys.
So as two best friends who love throwing great parties themselves we decided to start a business. With the help of Maisie working her magic behind the scenes to make sure the events were organised and had everything we needed. For two years the business grew more than we ever thought it would! Since we were having such a great time we decided to expand and bring some of our other hospo superstars on board.
A bit about each of us:
Luke Calder - An award winning Photographer, who is just as comfortable behind a lens as he is behind a bar. With a hospitality history spanning 20 years in the Capital and abroad – you would be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable bartender. His friendly and smiley nature will have your guests enthralled. Luke’s favourite cocktail is a Rum Old Fashioned.
Kane Salanoa – Kane has worked in the hospitality scene for 15+ years. Currently as the general Manager of Fortune Favours. Kane is a master at helping manage your event on the night to ensure an amazing time for you and your guests. His vibrant and outgoing personality will not be lost on your guests as he whips around introducing himself and entertaining everyone in the room. Kane’s favourite cocktail is a Daiquiri- shaken not blended!
Maisie Salanoa - Maisie is the glue that holds The Cocktail Society together. She is our admin extraordinaire! From your first contact to the day of the event, Maisie will liaise and plan with you to ensure you have the perfect cocktails planned, the right ingredients and the perfect amounts to ensure your event goes off with a bang. She also makes a great drink and gives the boys a good run for their money! Maisies favourite cocktail is the Lemon Drop.
